Trueburger is a modern-day hamburger restaurant that is the long-awaited dream of two local chefs who wanted to open a place inspired by the foods they love to eat.
The small, well-crafted menu offers house-ground hamburgers, crispy portobello mushrooms stuffed with smoked mozzarella both served on toasted egg buns; chili-cheese fries, all-beef kosher hot dogs, and hand-spun milk shakes that include mix-ins such as strawberries, marshmallow, hot fudge, and more; all made with quality ingredients and offered at affordable prices. Trueburger is contemporary fast food done right without unnecessary preservatives, additives, or transfats.
Proud to be a part of Oakland, Trueburger is a short distance from Lake Merritt, the Paramount and Fox theaters, the increasingly popular Uptown district, and the 19th Street BART station. The complete menu is available to-go or diners can enjoy the 30-seat casual dining room; perfect for lunchtime during the work week or dinner before a show.
About the Owners Greg Eng and Jason Low, both former sous chefs at Bay Wolf Restaurant in Oakland, California wanted to open a place where guests can get the food they crave with
quality and value in mind.
After cooking for a combined twenty years also at other San Francisco Bay Area
establishments such as Jardiniere, Delfina, Absinthe, and Cesar, they've realized what people want is simple, honest, comforting food and a well-made burger will deliver every time.
